Gourmet Burger Kitchen | Restaurant Opening

Grill Warming

I was lucky enough to get an invite to Gourmet Burger Kitchen’s ‘grill warming’, in anticipation of their new restaurant opening at Cribbs Causeway in Bristol and it didn’t disappoint!  I took along my friend Emma to join me in the experience.

On arrival we were cheerfully welcomed by the maître d’ & then shown to our table my our helpful waitress. We quickly noticed the beautiful art deco decor of the new restaurant & the cute attention to details dotted all around.

With a massive 27 burgers to choose from we got right now to ordering! I ordered ‘The Stack’ (£10.95) & it sure lived up to it’s name as I struggled to take a bite out of it but our personal fave was Emma’s ‘Bruce Leek’ burger (£9.95) winner of their 2015 Chef Competition; which really was something different with truffled leeks & siracha mayo inside.

We also got a portion of Halloumi bites whilst we waited & although we felt a little pricey at £3.75 for a small bowl of cheese but the combination of perfectly grilled cheese & kiwifruit & habanero hot sauce meant we’d definitely order them again.

For drinks I had a 44 Northcote Pale Ale (£4.50) ‘An exclusive beer only available at GBK’ which was super light & refreshing (ideal when you’re filling up on burgers) & Emma tried the Fresh & Fizzy Elderflower with fresh mint, lemon & lime & a cheeky gin (£5.70) which made her “forget her winter blues”.

Not forgetting our sides we tried the Sweet Potato Fries (£4.05) and indulgent Truffle Cheese Sauce Fries (£3.95) both came with baconaisse – the best mayonnaise ever. The truffle cheese fries really stole the show though & both agreed we’d highly recommend!

Overall we had a great time at the new GBK – the restaurant’s beautiful, the staff were so helpful and friendly, the food came out quickly & was perfectly cooked & the atmosphere was relaxed whilst still feeling more gourmet than other burger chains. We would have given you 5/5 if you had your own toilets (you have to use the mall’s public ones) but wouldn’t deter us from returning soon.

A huge thank you to GBK for gifting us our dining experience but please be assured all the photos & opinions are my own.
